In 1997, Pat started autocrossing with the SCCA and participating in high-performance driving events with NASA. While still autocrossing, he became an HPDE instructor with NASA then in 2001 obtained his competition license with the SCCA. After wheel-to-wheel racing for a couple years, he returned to autocross full time but still occasionally instructs on road courses. Pat has competed at the SCCA Solo Nationals every year since 1998 in Stock, Street Touring and Street Prepared categories behind the wheel of a Sentra SE-R, various Camaro Z28s, a Subaru Impreza and a Corvette Z06. He is also the editor of the SCCA-Washington DC Region’s “Straightpipe” magazine.
