A first in the 11 years of the American Le Mans Series

We are under a red flag at Road Atlanta for the 12th annual Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA6 with heavy rains falling and water collecting on the circuit. This is the first competition red for the American Le Mans Series. All cars in pitlane and drivers are out.

Crews may cover the cars but no other work is allowed. Drivers must re-enter their cockpits once the red is lifted.

Franck Montagny is scored first for Peugeot, followed by Pedro Lamy in the sister car. Audi’s Allan McNish is third after dominating the race with Dindo Capello in the early stages.

Mika Salo leads in GT2 by a lap for Risi Competizione and Ferrari. BMW Rahal Letterman Racing’s Jorg Muller is second. The second- through fifth-place cars are on the same lap.

Dyson Racing’s Ben Devlin has the LMP2 lead in the No. 20 Mazda-powered Lola coupe. The lead is considerable over the second-place Lowe’s Fernandez Racing Acura ARX-01b of Adrian Fernandez.
